Instrument Series
The Musical Instrument series examines the relationship between sound, form, and resonance through sculptural interpretation of acoustic structures. Instruments exist as both functional objects and spatial compositions, shaped through proportion, tension, curvature, and vibration. The work explores these forms beyond utility, approaching them as architectures of rhythm and harmonic order.
Bronze surfaces extend and compress the physical language of strings, chambers, necks, and apertures into semi-abstract sculptural configurations. Elongated contours, intersecting planes, and rhythmic repetition generate a visual cadence that suggests movement and tonal resonance within stillness. The sculptures hold the memory of sound through shape alone.
The series draws from the structural fragmentation of Cubism and the refined geometry of Art Deco, where rhythm, balance, and directional flow become integral to composition. Through these influences, the work considers how musical principles may be translated into mass, line, and spatial tension, allowing silent forms to carry the presence of vibration and acoustic energy.
